Hubungan Pengetahuan Dengan Kepatuhan Penggunaan APD Di Konveksi CV. BAJ Sialang
Abstract
Occupational Safety And Health (OSH) contributes greatly to workplace accidents, especially in the garment industry sector, which involves various potential hazards and risks of injury. The work environment in the garment industry involves many physical activities and the use of tools that can cause accidents if not managed with proper safety procedures. Based on data provided by the ministry of manpower and BPJS Employment, in 2024 the compliance rate in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the industrial sector was still found to be 62%, which remains relatively low. This study aims to determine the factors associated with occupational safety and health (OSH) knowledge and discipline in utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) among garment staff at CV. BAJ, located in Sialang Village, Sayurmatinggi Subdistrict, South Tapanuli Regency, in the year 2025 from November 2024 to May 2025. The research method used was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach, involving 30 respondents who work in the garment industry. The data analysis included univariate analytical approach used to present respondent characteristics, as well as Bivariate analysis through the Chi-square statistical test with a significance level of α = 0.005. The results showed a significant relationship between OSH knowledge and the of PPE (p=0,000), coupled with the correlation betweeen compliance plus PPE use (p = 0. 000). Since the p-value of 0. 000 is less than 0. 05, the relationship is considered statistically significant.
