The Exclusive Breastfeeding Program was launched by the WHO in 2022, recommending that infants aged 0-6 months be fed only breast milk. This program is expected to reduce infant and child mortality rates worldwide. The benefits of exclusive breastfeeding include boosting immunity, supporting child growth and development, fostering bonding, being economically cost-effective, enhancing child intelligence, and helping regulate the spacing of subsequent pregnancies. The objective of the community service program, which utilizes moringa and katuk leaves as self-sufficient food sources from one's land to increase breast milk production, is to support the government's program on exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia. The target of this community service activity is the community in Sangkunur Village. The community service activities were carried out in several stages, including educational sessions on the benefits of breast milk for mothers and infants, the establishment of a ‘Herbal Space’ for the utilization of moringa and katuk leaves in the partner area, training in the production of food and beverage products made from katuk and moringa leaves, and subsequently conducting training in packaging and marketing these products. The outcomes of this community service initiative include participants enthusiastically participating in the activities from start to finish, participants being able to explain the benefits of breast milk, the establishment of the ‘Herbal Space,’ and the community being able to process moringa and katuk leaves into attractive and healthy foods (cakes, ice cream) and beverages (tea).
