Abstract

Bintuju is an area located in Angkola Muara Tais District, South Tapanuli Regency. The community still lacks understanding and knowledge about the use of family medicinal plant cultivation (TOGA) and many people still rely on shop medicines. This can be seen during counseling or education about Hypertension where they more often use medicines available at the shop. This Community Service Activity aims to improve the understanding and skills of residents in cultivating and utilizing TOGA in their yards. The method used consists of observation and direct practice of planting TOGA (medicinal plants) along with education about the benefits of TOGA, with a total of 21 participants. The result of this community service activity is an increase in public knowledge about utilizing TOGA (family medicinal plants), which is widely known by the public as traditional medicine. The community is motivated to use TOGA to prevent diseases by using TOGA as an alternative treatment, and people are becoming more aware of the types of medicinal plants and their benefits.
