Abstract

Hypertension is one of the most common and serious health problems in society, which can cause complications such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure. Averrhoa bilimbi L plant is a traditional plant that is widely used for medicine by the community, the parts used are the leaves, fruit, and flowers. This study was conducted to determine the ingredients used can be and become herbal tea preparations, to determine whether herbal tea is safe to consume and to determine whether herbal tea preparations can be stored for a long time. The ingredients used by the author in this study were 1 kg of starfruit leaves. In the processing of starfruit leaf tea through several processes such as cutting, then drying and then the starfruit leaves are dried in the sun until dry then blended until half smooth, after that put into a tea bag, then brewed with hot water. The results of this study produced a uniform herbal tea preparation, with a slightly sour but refreshing taste, then pale yellow in color. In this study the author succeeded in making a preparation in the form of a tea preparation. Tea preparations have been proven to be able to overcome hypertension, diabetes, lower cholesterol levels and facilitate digestion. Tea preparations can be stored and consumed for a long period of time because of the use of natural ingredients without preserved ingredients.
