EDUKASI KESEHATAN TENTANG HIPERTENSI KEPADA IBU-IBU PENGAJIAN DIDESA PADANG KAHOMBU KEC.BATANG ANGKOLA

Abstract

Hypertension is a health disorder characterized by an increase in blood pressure that occurs continuously over a long period of time, usually exceeding the limit of 140/90 mmHg. The counseling method in health education is one effective way to increase public insight. The work program created by KKN group 27 of Aufa Royhan University is rooted in the problem of minimal public understanding of the prevention and treatment of hypertension. The main objective of this counseling activity is to provide information about hypertension and guide the community in implementing a healthy lifestyle as a preventive measure. This activity uses an interactive counseling method through PowerPoint slides to convey information about hypertension. In addition, this activity also discussed the importance of maintaining health and ways to overcome hypertension. This counseling activity was carried out on May 23, 2025, with participants from religious study groups in Padang Kahombu village, Batang Angkola district, South Tapanuli Regency. The results showed that the religious study groups were very enthusiastic about asking about hypertension and how to prevent it, and when given a questionnaire, they were able to answer well. From the questionnaires that had been collected, it was found that there was an increase in the knowledge of religious study groups regarding hypertension.
