PENGETAHUAN IBU NIFAS TENTANG BABY BLUES

The incidence of baby blues was recorded as 22.4% of mothers experiencing depression after giving birth. Baby blues are caused by hormonal and social changes after giving birth. (Ministry of Health, 2019). Baby Blues in general in the world population is 3-8% with 50% of cases occurring in the productive age group, namely 20-50 years. In the United States, it is known that the incidence of baby blues is 14.1% higher than in European countries and Australia. The purpose of this research is to determine the knowledge of postpartum mothers about baby blues in Salambue Village, Padang Sidempuan Tenggara District in 2023. The benefits of this research can increase insight and knowledge as well as being a valuable experience for researchers. This research is descriptive in nature using total sampling where a sample of 25 respondents using the questionnaire studied.The results of research from 25 respondents obtained a frequency distribution based on knowledge, the majority had less knowledge 18 (72%), the majority had less knowledge, aged 20-39 years 18 (72%), the majority had less knowledge, with a high school education 9 (36%), the majority 18 (72%) had less knowledge, with 18 being housewives (72%), the majority had less knowledge with 7 (28%) being multiparous mothers. It was concluded that respondents could get sources of information, especially health workers and social media. From health workers, respondents could ask how to prevent baby blues. Using other media, respondents were free to questions whenever they wanted without having to wait for health information.
