ABSTRACT Personal hygiene is essential in maintaining health, especially for elementary school children. During their growth and development phase, children are vulnerable to infectious diseases due to a lack of knowledge and poor hygiene practices, such as diarrhea, respiratory infections, and skin disorders. This outreach program aimed to assess the impact of personal hygiene education on the knowledge and hygiene practices of elementary school students. It also aimed to enhance students’ understanding and skills in maintaining personal cleanliness. The outreach was conducted at SD Negeri 100620 Pasar Lama, Batang Angkola Subdistrict, targeting all 152 students. The activity was carried out in two alternating class groups within the same room. The methods used included lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. The materials provided focused on aspects of personal hygiene, such as proper handwashing techniques. After the session, an evaluation was conducted through observation and practice. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge and ability to apply the six-step handwashing method correctly. Thus, this outreach plays an important role in developing clean and healthy living habits and can improve health status.
