Abstract

Brooches made from scrap fabric are a form of handicraft that utilizes waste fabric from sewing into products with economic and aesthetic value. Scrap fabric as a raw material has great potential to be developed into creative products that are environmentally friendly while improving community skills. This activity aims to invite the community to help make brooches from scrap fabric. The implementation method used is the demonstration method. The demonstration method is a counseling method that is carried out by actually demonstrating a skill, procedure, or new technology in front of participants. The goal is for participants to be able to see directly how an action is carried out, so that they understand the steps for making brooches from scrap fabric. The community responded positively to this activity. Although knowledge about making brooches has been widely available in online media, the community is still enthusiastic to know how to make brooches from scrap fabric by students. With the implementation of this activity, the community will know the steps for making brooches from scrap fabric. With this activity, it is hoped that it can increase the skills of residents in processing scrap fabric or leftover fabric cuttings.
