Abstract

Water birth is not like conventional delivery, where the mother lies in the delivery room. During the delivery process, the mother will enter a colomn or bathtub filledd with warm water after opening six, then soak while looking for the most comfortable position to wait for the birth of the baby (Tikah Kumala, 2020). According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2010, the prevalence of pregnant women who died during precnancy and childbirth was around 500,000. The purpose of this study was to find out the knowledge of pregnant women about the water birth methot in the progress of childbirth at the Klink Midwife Hj. Siti Aminah Padangsidimpuan city in 2023. Based on the research results from 25 respondents, it was obtained that the frecuency distribution based on knowledge of the majority had less knowledge as many as 25 people (100%), the majority had less knowledge  aged 20-39 years as many as 21 people (84,0%), the majority had less knowledge with high school education as many as 13 people (52,0%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the majority of pregnant women’s knowledge about water birth method delivery is still lacking, soit is expected that pregnant women will increase their knowledge about water birth method delivery through health workers, electronic media, and print media.
