Abstract

Nutritional problems in the first 1000 days of life can be categorized into three periods: pregnancy, 0-6 months, and 7-23 months. The WHO World Health Organization in its various publications has announced that the decline in the prevalence of malnutrition is estimated that the prevalence of underweight children has been reduced by 50% to 18.4%. The purpose of the study was to determine the knowledge of pregnant women about the first 1000 days of life at the Sahara Midwife Clinic, Am.Keb Aek Tampang Padangsidimpuan City. Descriptive research using accidental sampling where the sample was 32 respondents. Based on the results of the study of 32 respondents, the frequency distribution based on knowledge was found to be majority knowledgeable less as much as 90.6%, majority knowledgeable less with age 20-40 years as much as 90.6%, majority knowledgeable less with high school education as much as 81.3%, majority knowledgeable less with housewife work as much as 53.1%, majority knowledgeable less with parity primipara mother as much as 50.0%, majority knowledgeable less with source of information from health workers as much as 59.4%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the majority of pregnant women's knowledge about the First 1000 Days of Life is still lacking so it is hoped that pregnant women will increase their knowledge about the First 1000 Days of Life through health workers, electronic media, and print media.
