Abstract

When labor arrives, many mothers feel emotions, fear and anxiety, this is caused by the appearance of severe pain in the mother. WHO says around 295,000 women die during and after pregnancy and childbirth (WHO, 2017). The aim of the research was to find out the knowledge of pregnant women about acupressure massage at sp6 and li4 points to relieve labor pain in the first stage of labor at the mona durriyah midwife clinic, Padangsidimpuan city in 2023. This research is descriptive by using accidental sampling. By using a questionnaire examined based on age, parity, occupation, sources of information, education. Based on research results from 20 respondents obtained frequency distribution based on lack of knowledge 17 people (85%), the majority of knowledge is lacking with the age of 20-40 years 17 people (85%), the majority of knowledge is lacking with primipara parity 6 people (30%), the majority of knowledge less with 9 household jobs (45%), the majority of knowledge is lacking with electronic media information sources 15 people (75%), the majority of knowledge is lacking with high school education 9 people (45%). Based on the research results, the majority of pregnant women's knowledge about acupressure massage at sp6 and Li4 points to relieve labor pain in the first stage is still lacking, so it is hoped that pregnant women will increase their knowledge about acupressure massage to relieve labor pain through health workers, electronic media and print media.
