PENGETAHUAN REMAJA PUTRI TENTANG PENANGANAN NYERI HAID DENGAN KOMPRES AIR HANGAT

Abstract

Adolescence is a stage between childhood and adulthood. In 2022 the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that there are 1,769,425 people (90%) experiencing menstrual pain, 10-15% of them experiencing severe menstrual pain. The purpose of this study was to find out the knowledge of young women about handling menstrual pain with warm water compresses at Darmais Vocational School, Padangsidimpuan City in 2023. The benefit of this research is that it can increase knowledge and experience as well as self-development and insight in applying research method knowledge. This research is descriptive by using accidental sampling technique, namely the technique of determining samples based on environment, parental participation, sources of information, social culture, economy. Based on the results of the study of 35 respondents, 4 people (11.42%) had good knowledge of the frequency distribution. the majority of respondents lacked the school environment as many as 35 respondents (71.43%), the majority of respondents lacked control, namely 14 people (40%), the majority of respondents lacked control, namely 14 people (40%), the majority of respondents had less knowledge, namely information sources through electronic media as many as 26 people (74.28%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the majority of young women's knowledge about treating menstrual pain with warm water compresses is still lacking, so it is expected that adolescents will increase their knowledge about managing menstrual pain with warm water compresses through health workers, electronic media, and print media.
