Abstract

BCG (Bacille Calmette Guerin) immunization is an effort to prevent this type of tuberculosis infection in children, (TB) is one of the most common diseases in children under the age of 12 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge of mothers who have babies 0-3 months about BCG immunization in Pintu Padang II Village, Batang Angkola District, South Tapanuli Regency. This type of research is descriptive using a total sampling of 20 respondents. Collecting data using primary and secondary data, researched based on knowledge, age, education, occupation and sources of information. Based on the results of research from 20 respondents, the majority of respondents have less knowledge as many as 14 people (70.%). Based on the age of the majority of respondents with less knowledge with age 20 -40 as many as 15 people (75.%). Based on education the majority of respondents have less knowledge based on high school education as many as 7 people (35%). Based on the occupation, the majority of respondents have less knowledge of the work of housewives as many as 8 people (40%). Based on the source of information, the majority of respondents have less knowledge with health workers as many as 9 people (45%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the majority of mothers have less knowledge. So it is hoped that mothers who have babies will increase their knowledge about immunization and increase awareness and want to participate in immunization programs.
