PENGETAHUAN IBU NIFAS TENTANG SENAM KEGEL UNTUK PENYEMBUHAN LUKA PERINEUM

World Health Organization (WHO) worldwide in 2009 there were 2,7 cases of perineal injuries in women giving birth, this figure is estimated to reach 6,3 million in 2020 (Yuliana, 2020). The purpose of this study was to find out the knowledge of postpartum mothers about kegel exercises to health perineal wounds at the Mona Durryah Siregar Midwife clinic, SKM Padangsidimpuan City In 2023. The benefits of this research can the knowledge of postpartum mothers about kegel exercises. This research is descriptive using accidental sampling technique where the sample is 30 respondents by using a questionnaire examined based on age, education, work, parity and resources. Based on the results of a study of 30 respondents, the frequency distribution was obtained based on the majority having less knowledge of 25 people (83%), the majority having less knowledge moderate age 20-39 years of people (76%), the majority having less knowledge with tertiary education as many as 22 people (73%), the majority knowledge with housework as many as10 people (33%), the majority knowledge with mothers who gave birth twice as many as 12 people (40%), the majority knowledge with sources of information from health workers as many as 15 people (50%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the majority of postpartum womens knowledge about kegel exercises is still lacking, so it is expected that respondents will increase their knowledge about kegel exercises from health workers, electronic media and print media.
